Rae Lockwood never thought she’d ever set foot in her hometown again, that she would be free for the rest of her life with her great friends far away in Michigan. But after some devastatingly expensive truck repairs, she has no choice but to move back in with her transphobic dad after 3 years apart. She doesn’t plan on staying long though; a couple months slaving away at another fast food job and she’ll be right back on her feet. After all, this place can’t be nearly as bad as she remembers… right?

The air is different here now. The people don’t talk. The stores close early. The children have stopped playing outside. Rae and her old friends Wilbur and Jesse find themselves caught in the middle of a fathomless town conspiracy. Her darkest, innermost urges grow stronger and stronger with each passing day, becoming a shell of the person she's worked so hard to become as she desperately searches for who- or what- left that bite on her arm the very night she came back home…
